Gscreen Computers to produce dual screen laptops
In stunning new laptop news, a relatively unknown US laptop firm could be kick-starting a new sensation that could radically change the way we look and operate with laptops. Gscreen computers, based in the Northern state of Alaska has already completed Beta analysis and they are on the verge of launching dual screen laptops that would have huge ramifications on a crowded laptop market. Preliminary reports suggest that this dual screen laptop would have two different screens in a sliding fashion. While, there are no official details on screen resolution, it is expected that they will settle down for a respectable 1280 x 800 resolution, which would be more than sufficient for the common user.
Unlike most new prototype models which create a huge buzz in the market but fizzle out due to incompatible or poor configuration, Gscreen has ensured that it’s users would not only get a new laptop experience, but also that they would not run short of computing power. These laptops will be customisable with the default settings of 320 GB hard disk, whopping 4 GB of Ram fueled by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.4 GHz . Some reports also throw light on the fact that this dual screen laptop would also be tailor made for gamers with a 512 MB Nvidia 9800GT graphic card installed.
All this sounds good but what should be taken note is that the primary reason for laptop battery consumption is the laptop screen. Two different laptop screens would mean additional battery usage. This could mean two different issues for Gscreen to deal with:-
1. The laptop would have a much shorter battery time.
2. A nine cell might be used instead of the common six cell battery. While this would mean decent battery backup, there could be further issues pertaining to laptop weight.
Despite this drawback, there is absolutely no denying the fact that this could be another revolution in the every changing laptop market. This dual screen laptop is expected to go on sale by the end of this year through Amazon. Early reports suggest that the price could be in the range of $2500 odd which might be a tad bit too expensive for the common user, but given the fact that these are specific laptops catered to a select group of people, Gscreen might just have a pulled a huge coup here.
