T-Mobile launches laptop stick with attractive promotional plan
Many of you will be happy to know that USA’s T-Mobile is now offering a new USB dongle for your laptop that also acts as a portable HD for any of you who are interested in accessing the company’s 3G network through your laptop. A pretty nifty little device, if I do say so myself. Unfortunately, you won’t be getting Catherine Zeta Jones along with it, but you will be getting 2 new rates. (Which is almost as good, right)?
The webConnect Jet has up to a pretty hefty 8 gigabytes of microSD storage (installable), and comes free with a 2 year contract. If you buy before January 13th, you’ll be able to have access to 200 megabytes of data for a mere 30 bucks a month or 5 gigabytes of data for only 50 bucks a month. You will also be eligible to get an unlimited T-Mobile WiFi access plan with the device. Not a bad package at all.
T-Mobile has also launched another new 3G phone called “Tap”. It’s small, it’s rounded, and it has a touchscreen display with a 2 mp camera that comes with vid capture & playback. It also comes equipped with such standards as GPS, Bluetooth, and a music player. The Tap is going for 80 bucks if you get a 2 year contract (after a mail-in rebate, of course).
After losing 77 thousand subscribers in their last quarter, T-Mobile is busting their butt to build up-and-out the 3G network, which is so far the smallest 3G provider out of the Tier 1 group. Thankfully, the provider plans to pick up the speed next year by using HSPA+ which supposedly has downlink speeds of up to 21 Mbps. Not too bad if they actually pull it off!
