The imagery from Mike King genuinely takes laptop design to a completely new level by producing a visual statement that comes straight from the street. The graffiti-style artwork is a combination of lively, bubbly lines with a bold and colourful accent that come in wonderfully-descriptive names including Bunch O’ Surfers, Sunburst and Red Swirl.
King wanted to produce an effect that allowed him to share his artistic creations with an art-inspired audience that wanted their laptops to express an individually unique style. The actual results are outrageously beautiful.
Andrea Rosenberger has provided a more subdued design that still manages to look cool and effective. Her results are a plain, almost pastel-like single colour range with simple names such as Flamingo Pink, Spring Green and Plum Purple.
There are now a total of 14 different designs in the entire Dell Studio 15 Artist series that provides a creative whim for even the most demanding of customers. This is epitomised by Michael Tatelman, vice-president of global sales and marketing with Dell. Tatelman wanted a range that expressed the individuality of everyday life while presenting an ethic of uniqueness and emotional representation. The results are an overwhelming success.
