In a move that could cost SONY could a bit in the long run, the laptop giant has come out and offered free service for those who have had graphic card related issues in recent days. Sony has been in deep water after some Sony Viao laptops reported faulty Nvidia Graphic Chps which were responsible for image distortion as well as double image formation leading to a lot of trouble among Viao laptop users. However, Viao which has established itself as a supplier of premium level laptops is keen to clean up its act with a series of clean-streamed features.

This faulty reaction of Nvidia Graphic cards can be attributed to the overheating in the GPU of certain 8600 series Nvidia GPU shipped with Sony Viao laptops. Although, Sony has bluntly gone out and said that they wont be replacing or offering a refund on faulty laptops, they have offered free service for these laptops in addition to a three year warranty on GPU wherein a replacement is compulsory.

The laptops wherein this is an issue are the AR1, AR2 and AR3 series along with some models of the LT1 and LT2 series. The serial number of these laptops can be identified by checking the laptop codes on the bottom of the serial tags attached at the bottom of the laptop.

Although, these steps are pro-active and should help Sony gain a lot of customer respect after some torrid weeks, it remains to be seen if this issue finally moves out of Laptop news after dominating headlines for all the bad reasons in the recent days.

From the very first time technology revealed itself to be versatile and changeable, a demanding public called out in unison for products that blended lightweight, mobile technology with unprecedented power and eye-catching design.
From the mobile phones that we have become so reliant upon to the information-packed GPS systems that guide us around the world, size provides a distinct selling point that satisfies the urges of those who want their technology to hand no matter where they are.In the battlefield of computing, the traditional desktop model gave way to the more versatile laptop version. Although earlier laptops looked a little bulky in design and lacked the power and productivity of their predecessors, they provided consumers with a convenient alternative that allowed them to take the right information with them to any location in the world.

Naturally, consumer demand meant that designs would need to follow the same path as the mobile phone in ultimately producing a product that combined lightweight efficiency, powerful performance and stylish design into one desirable product.
The smaller 10 inch laptop has fulfilled that demand perfectly and offers the users a mobile alternative without making any compromises on overall performance. Today’s market sees every brand leader producing continually improving models to stay one step ahead of the competition in a worldwide niche threatens the very existence of the desktop computer.
Dell have produced the Inspiron Mini 1011 range that provides a fully-featured mobile companion with superb speeds, resourceful memory levels and wireless connectivity. The design is a seductive blend of shape and simplicity that epitomises the Dell brand.
Elsewhere, Asus have released the Eee 1000HE model that boasts superb technology in the Intel N280 processor and provides a longer-than-usual battery life that almost doubles the mobile time of its’ rivals. The design comes in ebony and looks visually stunning.
Sony have made additions to the VAIO range to cement it’s place in the domain of 10 inch models with a powerful model that uses a wafer-thin body as it’s unique selling point without any compromise on performance. Although a little more expensive other models, the overall effect of the VAIO is a testament to the design boffins at Sony who have produced a product to be proud of.
Elsewhere, Samsung have produced the highly-versatile NC10 that weighs in at a paperweight 2.9 pounds, while Acer have released their smaller model as part of the famous Aspire series to cope with the rigorous demands of the budget market.
